This precipitation hardening allows the steel to reach an impressively practical hardness, given the steel has very little carbon in it. Giving the H1 blade its bite, Spyderco has applied a hollow-ground edge with the signature Spyderco serration, making this knife able to cut through rope and seat-belts like nothing else, and in any condition. The FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handle makes the Atlantic Salt light and rigid, without being susceptible to the elements, and textured with the Volcano Grip pattern the Spyderco Atlantic Salt feels secure with or without gloves in all weather conditions.
