I highly recommend the Mace Pepper Gun. When I first purchased one from Cops Plus over a year ago I loaded it with the water cartridge as instructed to help familiarize myself with the gun, though the spray power didnt seem very impressive. I walk my German Shepard in the early morning hours. A few weeks back we encountered a large dog running towards the both of us. I deployed the Mace Gun while the dog was still some distance away. To my surprise, The Mace Gun fired the pepper spray about 3 times more powerfully and further than the water cartridge. Thankfully the dog fled before the spray made contact. I feel totally confident the Mace Gun would have no problem handling any defensive situation.
