Using the controlled angle sharpening method and four diamond hones in fine, medium, coarse and extra course grits, the set quickly and efficiently sharpens kitchen, hunting and outdoor knives and tools. Safe and easy to operate for the novice or veteran knife sharpener, the kit comes with complete user instructions, a clamp for holding the blade spine at mid-point, guide rods and four diamond hones. Simply put the knife in the clamp, assemble the desired sharpening hones and start sharpening, remembering to sharpen into the blade. Next, flip over the knife clamp and repeat on the other side. By progressing though the hones, from coarse to fine for aggressive sharpening, or medium to fine for general touch-ups, users can quickly maintain an edge or reset an edge at a different angle. Blade Sharpening Angles:
17° - For an extremely sharp, delicate edge. Best for razor blades, X-Acto© knives, scalpels and similar tools.
20° - Generally used for high-quality blades. An excellent edge for kitchen and filet knives.
25° - Creates a sharp, lasting edge on most knives. Ideal for hunting and field knives.
