The first floss area removes foreign particles prior to the scrubbing action of the brush. A bore brush with bronze bristles is embedded in the next stage of the Boresnake, which loosens hard deposits. The main floss area provides significantly more surface area than a patch. This final cleaning surface pulls foreign deposits and residue from the gun bore.
