Comes with the spring extremely tight forcing a wedge down, it will loosen spring tension and make it usable. I'm not aware of a better system for a long barrel revolver. But it needs some break in to function.

Fits like a glove, well make, does require a good break in period. Holds my Ruger GP 100 very well.

There is no holster that is going to please everyone. For me, this holster is perfect. Yes, it comes stiff, but once you put the gun in and wear it, it should break-in fine. It's comfortable to wear and the elastic back strap has more give to it than a leather one would and helps keep the holster in place while in normal use. It's made extremely well with quality leather and the price is outstanding.

Not withstanding the 3 stars, after some modifications, I was able to turn this holster into a 5 star. Be aware that this is not, repeat not a secure holster. If you want a secure holster in this style, get the Bianchi Military Shoulder holster and keep the flap option on it. I ordered the holster for a Smith &Wesson 10006 because they no longer make a holster for a Smith&Wesson 4506. I had to stretch this holster by slowly squeezing the UNLOADED 4506 going in barrel first as far as it would go, and then taking the gun out and using a regular sized hammer, squeezed the "hammer head inside all the way to the bottom of the holster and left it there for about 10 seconds before removal, the gun then fit like a charm. Holster came with 2 -retention straps, with the gun already inside, I too the longer strap and took the holster to a friend who happens to be a Shoe And Leather Repair Person and had 2 snaps installed at the top of the holster right where the shoulder straps begin. I had the leather strap positioned right on the gun's BACK STRAP (where the web of the hand holds the gun). This secures the gun. The shorter leather retention strap which was supplied, I "stretched" across the trigger guard using the original shoulder snaps. This is now a 5 star holster that has a purpose. You will have to leave the gun in there about a week for it to "fit and form into the holster. With these modifications, the holster is extremely secured. Just practice drawing the gun unsnapping the shorter retention strap first. For those of us who still have a Smith&Wesson 4506-1, look no further. With a little work, this is as secure as a shoulder holster gets and pretty darn comfortable.

I like it. It holds the firearm tightly even without the strap being snapped but not so tight you can't break it free from the holster. I don't like the elastic band for the harness. It needs an X-16 style harness with the wide leather shoulder straps and 2 double stacked 45 magazine pouches on the other side to balance the weight. Bianchi used to make a shoulder holster with a wide elastic strap between the shoulder blades. I think that would be helpful keeping the harness where you want it. I plan to modify mine to be that way. Works well with my P-14 Paraordnance double stacked .45 cal.

After conditioning the holster and leaving my glock 21 in it overnight with wax paper, it fits great and very comfortable.

Bianchi makes good quality products, however the shoulder holster I bought doesn't have very much room built in for adjustment. I had to have additional leather sewn on to the adjustment straps to obtain a proper fit. No, I'm not a big guy either.

Quality of leather and workmanship, stitching, sizing, etc. are excellent. I would have given this holster 5 stars if it had not been so difficult to adjust the spring tension to fit a j frame revolver. Ultimately, I resorted to using a small wooden C clamp to grip one side while I stretched the opposite side open until the gun could be inserted and drawn with reasonable force. Coating the cylinder area inside with Galco Draw-EZ helped too.

Good leather. Tight fit to frame still working on stiff spring. I recommend this holster.

This holster is driving me crazy. Just got it in today and already having issues with the bullets falling out. I have no idea how this design has been so successful over the years. Way too much trigger exposed as well. How this holster is above 40 bucks blows my mind. Would not recommend.

I bought this holster (upper end) thinking it would be a good buy. The leather is well made the Holster itself is well made and that were it stops. The strap is elastic, thin and not very stable. Where the strap is located on the holster is not placed well either. And then the two pieces that connect the holster where they meet for adjustment is not well placed. Almost have to undo one side to the very end to make it almost fit.

Great quality very nice, it's a little bit long wish it was made for more specific barrel length, other than that great product.

The shoulder holster is top quality and what I expect from Bianchi. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a shoulder holster and well worth the higher price for good leather.

The holster is exactly what I wanted. It is well made. My only problem is the strength of the clips that are to hold the gun in place are too strong. You can't just slide the gun in the holster. I got this for a Sig P226. The gun fits fine and getting the gun out is not an issue. If I had to choose between on that does too good a job holding the gun in place and one that does not, I will take this one. I prefer this type holster over any other type. Access to the gun is easy and the gun is out of the way. I have worn this same type holster with an S & W 6" 357 and it is great in the field.

Perfect, exactly what I wanted.
Will this accommodate a 3 inch barrel on a GP100 357 mag Ruger revolver? It looks too long.Holster will accommodate a GP100 with a 4" barrel. The 3" barrel should fit but there will be a space between the end of the muzzle and holster bottom.
Does this include the shoulder harness?Yes, sir, this does include a shoulder harness that is adjustable and able to fit up to a size 48" chest.
